Purpose of the Program

The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Job Development Internship Program is an opportunity for businesses in the area to grow with the assistance of highly trained students to meet their specific business needs. It is a partnership with employers who can offer students productive and meaningful work assignments with a learning component related to their majors.

You benefit by choosing the student best suited for your business. The greatest incentive to joining the program is Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will pay a portion of the student’s wage. The reduced costs associated with recruiting and training create potential, permanent employees for your company. Joining the program also establishes a close business partnership between employers and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

The Bottom Line

You pay the intern directly $12.25/hr and invoice TAMUCC for $5.00 and then add to that total half of the taxes taken from the gross pay. After we receive an invoice from your compay, your reimbursement check from us will take between 30 and 45 days.  It is just as if you paid minimum wage.
